Program Eligibility

To join the ESTEEMED MIRA program, a prospective undergraduate trainee must meet the eligibility requirements listed below and fill out a six section online application.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the ESTEEMED MIRA program, applicants must:

  • Be an incoming first-year student accepted to WSU Pullman.
  • You will be automatically accepted into the WSU Honors College. Joining Honors is required for participation in the ESTEEMED MIRA program.
  • Have an interest in a biomedical research career after earning a Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D.
  • Be an American citizen or permanent resident.
  • As indicated by high school courseswork, plan to major in a science or engineering field (i.e. biology, biochemistry, biophysics, bioengineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, genetics and cell biology, microbiology, neuroscience).
  • Be available to take part in a six-week summer bridge program.
